Volunteer/Member Roles
Members are made up of
All family members will complete a membership form.
Affiliate members will complete a partnership agreement to ensure mutual understanding of the proposals.
It is the members who enable us to deliver the projects and activities and steer these in the right direction to eliminate duplications of services and that the organisation is responding to the actual needs of the membership.
Each volunteer must be willing to read and abide by the Organisations
1. Web site and Marketing Development Team
We are looking for a 3 volunteers with internet access and the ability to communicate this way as required. This is estimated to be an average of 2 hours a week; ideally at least every few days but at times convenient to the individual.
The person would to work as a separate development team-currently alongside the Secretary and would not be required to attend committee meetings however, there is a need to understand the procedure that surrounds an organisations Governance and decision making.
If the volunteer felt strongly enough about ‘making a difference’ to the management of the organisation then they could fulfil this role as a Committee member; giving the opportunity to make those management decisions.

2. Shattered Dreams Drop-In:
Steering/Development Team
We are looking for a 3 volunteers preferably with internet access and the ability to communicate this way as required. This is estimated to be an average of 2 hours a week; ideally at least every few days but at times convenient to the individual.
The person would to work as a separate development team-currently alongside the Secretary and would not be required to attend committee meetings however, there is a need to understand the procedure that surrounds an organisations Governance and decision making.
The person would be required to have knowledge of their own journey through life threatening illness or grief to be able to offer that wisdom to develop something for others.
If the volunteer felt strongly enough about ‘making a difference’ to the management of the organisation then they could fulfil this role as a Committee member; giving the opportunity to make those management decisions. There would then be the possibility to attend Bereavement Training which will count as continued Professional development. We currently have funding for 1 person to attend training in September 2009 (terms would apply)

Refreshments & Resource Library Coordinators
We are looking for a 2-3 volunteers to work together or on a rota basis. This will be for 2 hours a month starting 21st April 2009 and then every 2nd Tuesday thereafter from 6.30pm until approximately 8.00pm. The team will make refreshments and record information and comments about resources that are loaned.
If the volunteer felt strongly enough about ‘making a difference’ to the management of the organisation then they could fulfil this role as a Committee member; giving the opportunity to make those management decisions. There would then be the possibility to attend Bereavement Training which will count as continued Professional development. We currently have funding for 1 person to attend training in September 2009 (terms would apply)
4. Shattered Dreams Drop-In & Young Explorers Club:
Play/Craft Workers
We are looking for a 3 or 4 volunteers to work together or on a rota basis to arrange regular craft and play activities with adults and children. We want to build up a stock of items to sell for our fund-raising events and develop groups that may run for approx 5 hours every 6 weeks starting sometime after May 2009. It will be necessary to have some planning meetings beforehand.
